As New Zealand’s fifth largest general practice, Queenstown Medical Centre provides healthcare to nearly 19,000 patients across four locations in central Queenstown, Arrowtown, Jack’s Point, and Remarkables Park.
Looking to modernise how they engage with a large number of patients across an expansive geographical area, Queenstown Medical Centre have partnered with Ōtautahi Christchurch health tech company Webtools to implement Centrik and the Well consumer health app.
Queenstown Medical Centre patients will soon be able to connect with their primary care team using the Well app, powered by Centrik. The app enables patients to access their health summary, book appointments, request repeat prescriptions, message their primary care team, and attend virtual consultations – all on a modern and easy to use platform.
The deployment of the Well app will offer patients at Queenstown Medical Centre a range of options to engage with their GP, meaning patients that are located throughout the Queenstown lakes region can attend a consultation virtually, or request repeat prescriptions to be sent to their local pharmacy, reducing travel time and barriers to accessing healthcare. Patients will also be able to book in-person appointments across any of Queenstown Medical Centre’s four locations.
As Queenstown Medical Centre are running Medtech Evolution as their practice management system (PMS), Centrik can be quickly deployed with standards-based integration using FHIR and the Medtech ALEX® platform.
The partnership with Queenstown Medical Centre follows the recent announcement of Webtools’ partnership with Green Cross Health to roll out Centrik across their network of medical centres. Centrik is also being used by a number of practices throughout the country including; Better Health Group, Dodson Medical Centre, Chadwick Healthcare, Waitaha Primary Health, and Phoenix Healthcare Group in partnership with Third Age Health.
